A Glass of Milk for Kasimir Malevich (1997)
Glass of milk, ink and water, glass
15 x 15 x 15cm
An open glass box has a glass of milk stood in it and the rest of the box filled with black ink. In Malevich's suprematist aesthetics the circle, square (and cube) were the ultimate, cosmic abstractions. His grave marker is a cube. I wanted to give him a taste of the invisible (but which is also physical).
